Something Dangerous...

Crossing the street is the most dangerous thing you could ever think of.  There are not very many stop signs, so what you do is just start walking...and hope nothing runs into you.  Most cars are quick to slow down and stop, but i have had some that just keep coming and coming until BAM, they stop right before they hit you.  :P  Let me tell you, it is a terrifying experience; and I have to repeat it every single day!!!  Not my idea of a fun walk to school!  (I guess the good news is that they ususally stop!)  There are some other interesting rules of the street, including don't look at anybody.  Especially the girls because in this culture if a girl makes eye contact with a man on the streets that means that she likes him....aparently.  (I'm really bad at this and have to remind myself frequently!)  Everybody walks in their own bubbles and nobody interrupts anyone else.  Another cultural thing that I have to remind myself of is kisses.  When you meet someone for the first time (and every other time after that, unless it's your family)  you have to give two kisses one on each cheek, the boys and girls do this.  I also forget this too...thankfully I haven't gone for the wrong cheek yet though! (left side first always!!)
